- Celtic-Plus Event in Heidelberg: possibility to discuss new projects
including multi-disciplinary research

Dear Madam/ Sir,

We kindly would like to remind you that Celtic-Plus, the new EUREKA cluster
extension of Celtic, will run its first annual conference, entitled
"Celtic-Plus Event 2011 - Realising the Smart Connected World", at the
Hotel in Heidelberg, Germany, from 29 to 30 March 2011; a get-together
will be organised on 28th March from 18:00 to around 20:00. Interested
researchers and high-level managers from industry and public authorities are
invited to attend. Early bird registrations should be placed before 25th
February 2011. 

The number of participants is limited to 200 people!

Highlights of the programme and the new Celtic-Plus research areas are in

- New, infrastructural telecommunication challenges for secure, high-speed and
ubiquitous networks
- New service challenges, like digital/ smart home, digital/ smart cities,
e-Health, etc.
- Future Internet topics in complement to the EU FI-PPP initiative (e.g. to
build up a Celtic-Plus "Use Case Factory", as well as new inter-disciplinary
challenges related e.g. to smart energy, green ICT, CleanTech "grand
challenges", etc.

The Event will be complemented with an exhibition of project results from a
selected number of important Celtic projects. 

The Event includes a "Proposer's Day" on 29 March where new project ideas for
the new, fast Celtic-Plus calls planned in May and October 2011 will be
presented and discussed. 
One of the new focus for discussion of new projects will be possible
multi-disciplinary approaches with related clusters/ activities (e.g. on
saving, smart grids, green-ICT, water & ICT, Future Internet, etc.). 
Several parallel sessions, chaired by core group members of Celtic and other
clusters, will offer the opportunity to discuss these specific technological
research areas. Attendees from the energy domain will be represented under the
coordination of the EUROGIA+ EUREKA Cluster. This will help discuss potential
projects in relation with the EUREKA "Clean-Tech Action",

Celtic-Plus and other EUREKA Clusters is held on 23 February 2011 in Eilat,
