L’université irlandaise de Dublin recherche des partenaires pour un:
Projet: STREP
Dans le défi: 4.3 Digital libraries and technology-enhanced learning
Nom provisoire du projet: Values-based Learning Objects & Tools for Education
for Sustainable Development

Sujet: 
This project aims to utilise ICT to develop a values-based approach to
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). This will manifest in the
construction of tools that can be used to capture information stored in
digital
libraries, or indeed re-use learning objects stored in digital repositories,
and transform or re-align these into ‘pedagogically & culturally sound’
learning enterprises that could be used in diverse settings – thus, develop
new
‘learning objects’ that could be used to imbue or foster values of ESD. 

Expertises demandées:
They are looking for experts in design and implementation of digital learning
objects/ tools, and those with experience of the development of digital
learning repositories and/ or digital libraries. Others with experience in
designing curricula for Education for Sustainable Development also welcome.

Partenaires recherchés:
It is estimated that this project would involve multi-disciplinary
collaboration amongst partners, including those involved in research in
computer science, education and training, e-learning companies, those managing
digital libraries and digital learning repositories, educational practitioners
and learners. We are particularly interested in those with a background in
Computer Science research in Universities, with specific experience in
designing learning objects/ tools, and those who have experience in the
development of tools for Digital Learning Repositories/ Libraries.

The aim of the HECOMON project is to build a solution for the deployment and
monitoring of sensor networks used for the surveillance of large-scale and
open
ended real world environments.
The HECOMON solution to be built
* includes support for heterogeneous large-scale systems
* has intelligence and cognitive abilities
* combines sensor networks and autonomous robots with virtual reality
techniques

Expertises demandées:
The HECOMON consortium with companies/organisations from Germany, France, and
Spain has 2 vacancies. We are looking for: 
- A security company and/or facility operator to provide the environment for
demonstrations and tests during the lifetime of the project (end user).
- A commercial technology provider with a proven record being interested to
bring the technology behind HECOMON to the market and being responsible for
dissemination and exploitation during the lifetime of the project (marketer).

Learning: ECORE-ML

Sujet: 
ECORE-ML will develop an intelligent elearning environment that is capable of
supporting such complex needs. The environment will not be medical-specific,
but rather an architecture that can be tailored to other complex self-learning
requirements found in law, engineering and other knowledge intensive
professions.

Expertises demandées:
They are looking for partners with skills and experience in:
- Learning environment building and integration into workflow systems
- Artificial intelligence applications, such as decision support systems, and
data mining
- Databases and data warehouses.
- Learning management, such as goal building, learning object (lo) based
material development, matching learning and organisational strategies
- Medical learning, especially continuous education of physicians

Partenaires recherchés:
The consortium is looking for a coordinator.
They already have a group of ICT-oriented and learning-oriented partners.
However the following are more than welcome:
- Partners with demonstrated experience in managing FP-projects
- Large ICT integration companies with experience in workflow integration of
training systems
- Faculties of education, or instructional technology with relevant experience
- Medical schools, hospitals or associations that can help in content
development and/or as a test platform
- Government institutions or agencies that can help with dissemination and
work
towards policy-adoption

We expect future, large digital libraries to be consolidated into datacenters,
employing a commodity-based infrastructure consisting of servers, storage
units
and its interconnect. Our proposal is to characterize how a few representative
digital library applications use such scaled-out systems, in order to optimize
the deployed infrastructure with the objective to increase infrastructure
robustness and scalability while also focusing on reducing infrastructure
cost,
management cost and operations cost.

Expertises demandées:
They are looking for recognized research experts of large digital libraries,
who are running into performance limits of their current infrastructure and
yet
have the need for further scaling.

Partenaires recherchés:
The partners can be institutions running large digital libraries on their own
infrastructure.

over social networks.

that kind of intelligence objects are capable of autonomous behaviours, what
enables a shift from data-centric distributed systems based on hard-coded
functionality, to flexible document-centric ones, based on generic services
provided by local environments of migrating document components.

Partners from law enforcement and justice departments of local and national
