ALLEX@ndRIA will be a collaborative digital library and intelligent content
project that will contribute to implement the European initiative “i2010:
Digital Libraries”. 
The project will cover the following requirements: 
• Accessibility and usability. 
• Content preservation. 
• Collaborative environments management.
• Efficient and intelligent technologies for the content management.
• To allow the content capture, sharing and reuse.
• Knowledge repositories generated from content analysis.
Users (people and organizations) will be able to explode knowledge
repositories
for learning.
• The application allows restricting access to information depending on the
user profile (level of education, age, profession, language, etc.) 
Expertises demandées:
The partners should be experts in:
1. Supporting for blind or partially sighted people.
2. Voice processing tools and frameworks.
3. Knowledge management and Semantic web.
4. e-Health.

critical infrastructures
Nom provisoire du projet : First Response in Crises (FIRESC)

Sujet:
Experience shows that first responders will have the most important role in
the
early response to different types of emergencies (e.g. conventional,
radiation,
chemical, etc.). Their ability to respond efficiently will have the critical
influence to protection of life, health and property, to prevention of
escalation of the emergency and to response and rehabilitation at the later
stage. Providing the first responders with adequate knowledge and training,
equipment and tools developed in line with best international practice and
novel technologies will ensure the effective first response.
Expertises demandées:
We are looking for a university or research institution or a small medium
enterprise (SME) with the following expertise:
1) PDA IT (development of portable website in a form which could be
downloadable for portable devices: PDAs, smart phones etc. Testing of this
developed portable website and updating it based on the feedback. 
2) E-learning IT (development of E-learning training using the existing
technical materials)
3) Training (implementation of training for end-users - first responders in
application of portable website and E-learning tools. Training through
lectures, working sessions, drills and exercises (table top and field).
Corresponding (to the subject of training) technical knowledge and lecturers'
skills are required.
Partenaires recherchés:
IT laboratories, groups or units in the Universities, 
Research Institutes and industrial companies active in this field, including
small medium enterprise (SMEs). 
Universities, Research Institutes and Governmental organizations which perform
training in response to CBRN and conventional emergencies.

Temporal,
Probabilistic Reasoning mechanisms and Semantic Interoperability

Sujet:
Case-based reasoning (CBR) aims to use previous experience represented as
cases
to understand and solve new problems by attempting to modify solutions of
these
former cases to fit for the current problem. CBR is particularly appealing in
those domains where acquiring and formalizing knowledge would be a
significantly hard and time-consuming task, as in medical and juridical
applications. Although there are various successful applications of CBR, the
most basic assumption of CBR systems is that the case descriptions presenting
previous experiences are available through case repositories. However although
not represented as a formal case description, these information is usually
available in separate resources describing particular phases of a case
chronicle. For example in the eHealth domain, a collection of relevant EHR
documents carry hidden information that is adequate to build medical case
descriptions. The aim of MASTERY project is to tackle this problem by enabling
extraction of these hidden case descriptions by integrating data from multiple
sources, over different pipelines that may include traces of the problem
solving process.

-Profile 2: Experts in Information Extraction from Narrative Documents
-Profile 3: End users in Medical Domain (e.g. Hospitals) that can provide

set of EHRs for validation

cases
for validation
-Profile 5: Experts in temporal and probabilistic reasoning
